I think you'd like belly bands. I use washclothes and just wrap one around my guy's stomach (over his wetter!) and pin it with a diaper pin. Then I can let him have full run of the house and if he does wet - he doesn't ruin my carpets, etc.

My dog is 10 months old - and almost never wets in the house if I take him out every couple hours. His belly band is usually dry before we go out - I take it off and out we go and he pee's outside. Then when we come back in, I put it back on. (And now that he's getting older and doesn't pee as often - he really doesn't need to wear it as much as he used to).

Remember bellybands have absolutely nothing to do with potty training your dog - they are only to protect your carpets, etc.

My dog has actually gotten outdoors with his on - and has run over, lifted his leg, and pee'd on a shrub (or at least tried to).
