go to the airlines web site and there should be something on there regarding pets in the cabin. I know Alaska Airlines allows it...it will cost you 75.00 and you have to leave him in his bag during the flight. Continental does as well, they charge 80.00... I know Southwest Airlines doesn't allow pets on their planes (nor dead bodies). Web site should give all info though. I also had to have a certificate of health from the vet, but no one ever asked for this. Congrats on your new baby!!
