Same here. I read the same suggested process that Andre mentioned and like him I was immediately confused. What I found the first day was - if I waited until Bailey was sleeping (on the floor, on the sofa, in my lap, wherever), then picked her up and stood her right at the entrance or partway into her crate, she would go on in, lie down and go back to sleep. During the day, we would leave the door open and she'd wander out when she woke up. At night, we just closed the door. No problems from day one. Well, no problems except that when she wakes up in the morning she will most emphatically let you know she's ready to get out.
