Shannon gave great advice. One other thing that I can offer is to check around where you shop a lot to see what credit cards they take. I have a discover that I use then my husband has a visa and we share a mastercard. I've noticed that some places don't take discover. The different companies require different things from the stores or deals with them differently, like how when they get their money, so some stores won't use certain cards. Like I said I've found some stores around here that don't take discover but at the same time Sam's club only takes discover. Plus, the main reason I use discover is you can pay it at Sears. So if you forget to mail it in or just want to go ahead and pay it off you can stop by any Sears and pay it. Other than that I would just go with the one that offers the lowest interest rate like Shannon said, there's really no difference in the cards.
Since you are wanting to use it at the emergency vet's just check and see if they accept all credit cards. Also if anything happens check to see if you do keep a credit card on file if then you can make payments. I know that's what our vet does. You have to have one on file in case you don't make the payments but once its on file they will work out a payment plan.
