Hi,
Right now I am the owner of two pet yorkies, Reggie and Kenzie, who are now 2 and 3 years old. love them to death but I bought them as pets and I am hooked on the yorkies breed!!
We started leaning about show nearly 3 years ago. We started attending and reading as much as we could.
My mom bought a stad poodle last year and allowed us to show him, it was a blast! Tons of work but we enjoyed every minute of it.
But we were drawn to the yorkies, and sat drooling watching them comepete and be groomed.
So, now I am back to researching and have decided that I will buy another yorkie for show.
My hurdles...I have small children. My oldest is 22 months and I have another baby due in a month. So that is one huge problem, many breeders will not allow their dogs be placed with families of small children.
We are in Canada and plan on doing CKC (Canadian Kennel Club), I am getting more and more familiar with the breeders of quality yorkies in Canada. I spoke with Laurie Hunter, from Nik Nak yorkies on the phone last week for advice. She was lovely, gave me so many tips and points in what to look for and and what to research.
I was wondering if there are any good online resources to showing yorkies?? I am NOT rushing into this, if it takes well over a year to find the "right" yorkie I am not worried. I would rather wait and be informed then jump in and have a disater on my hands (being un prepared).
So, I thought i would introduce myself, I have been lurking for quite some time...
