I have not thought of the possibility of him getting scared by something. I seem to think nothing scares him since he is such a feisty little Terrier. I have a really nice secluded are on the covered porch for him to potty so nothing can get to him so I do not know what it could have been but it is a possibility. I am just going to try and stick to the crating thing for a while and see where it gets me. I think it has very positive results for both owner and puppy from what I have read.
