 Scratching the walls?
Stomper (5 months old) just started to scratch the walls in our kitchen only when we are away from the house. I'm not too happy since the walls are texturized and now need to be fixed! I'm not happy.
I called my vet (over 25 years experience) about this behavior and she said that it is common for dogs to do this when they are teething...she said it will probably continue for another 6 months or so. She said that he might actually be biting on the walls!!!
In the meantime, she said to put something against the walls to prevent it or move him to a different area. He might need to be moved to the garage and access to the backyard instead of the house!
Have any of you heard of this? I've looked it up on the internet and it said that this could be a behavior problem - seperation anxiety. The vet said that when it is seperation anxiety they typically do it to the door you go in and out of or all over the furniture!
