I almost S@$& in my pants when they gave me the estimate. I definately think Roxy should have surgery at some point, but I am going to have to do some research and possibly find a Specialist OUTSIDE of New York who is skilled but also not going to charge me an arm and a leg! Any suggestions and/or recommendations are great appreciated!
$3000?! per leg?! that's crazy! I would definitely get a second opinion. That's what i'm doing with TeeJay. Some vets will make it sound more extreme than it really is just for the $. Is Roxy experiencing any pain when her kneecap "pops"? If not, then surgery can wait. I've decided to wait with TeeJay because in his case he's not experiencing any pain at all. The only risk is that it may develop into arthritis when he becomes older. That's why I'm taking all the necessary precautions right now to prevent that. He's on supplements right now that contain lots of vitamins and calcium that should reduce his risk. Anyway, this is a really tough decision and I know exactly what you're going through!
