I feed my dogs some wet dog food every day - and leave the dry food out all the time.
Honestly - mine are so picky - they really don't like the wet food and dislike the dry food even more. I don't think they eat two pieces of dry food a day. But - just in case, they get hungry when I'm at work ---it's their own fault if they starve --right?
I am really trying hard not to give them people food - and make them get hungry enough to eat their dog food. But, what I am noticing is that they are really visiting all the neighbors more often to get treats.
I live in a condo association and we have 12 units (six duplexes) next to one another --- and a backyard that runs the length of two football fields. This is really a great yard for all our little dogs. And most of us here have little dogs and love everyone else's as well.
The dogs run free in the yard a lot and visit all the neighbors and all the other dogs -- but, there is no doubt that my two little "starved dogs" are often on a food hunt.
It's hard to win - isn't it!
Anyway - yes, I leave dry food out all the time.
