I would rather put myself through the stress of learning how to groom my Coco then put her through the stress of having a complete stranger handle her. I was squeemish about the nails and ear plucking but you live and learn. I could, not now, not ever, trust a perfect stranger with my baby, even if it's just a haircut. That way I am responsible for my own dog, not someone else. I would not risk something like this happening because the groomer is too busy to remember my dog. Lots of people have great experiences and I'm sure people who have used the groomers in the original post have had those as well. It only takes one time and one accident. Personally I love my baby wayyyy too much to risk that. JMHO |
Of course no one will love and care for your baby more than you do. Thats a given. Not ALL groomers are like you state. I must just have an exceptional groomer. He cuddles and loves and takes care of Bridget as if he's her own and never does more than one dog at a time. It does go beyond. And to most dog owners their groomer is not a complete stranger. The accident in the original post is horrific and I can understand how it would scare people off using a groomer. I give a lot of credit to those who choose to do grooming themselves, that however was not my personal choice and I was lucky enough to find a groomer who I trust implicitly. It all comes down to choice I don't think one choice is better or worse than the other. And I'm sure your not implying that those who choose to use groomers love our babies less right?
