It depends on what your training. For some things it's best to use soft treats so they don't have to "stop and chew" too long. For that we use cheese. I cut it up in such ridiculously tiny pieces, that she actually gets very little, even in an hour long training session (which some of our classes have been)

Plus, when she's not in the mood, cheese is the only thing that gets her running agility.

Also, if your dog has issues with wheat you'll want to stay away from the cheerios.
