I had a half Collie, half Australian Cattle Dog one time (a designer dog, before designer dogs were invented...and she was free!). She looked like a Sheltie, sizewize and with all the hair. I had her shaved one summer and she was blue with spots! I wasn't sure she was the same dog, except for her attitude! But she was cute that way. And when she grew out her hair she again became a Sheltie look-alike.
