When we went to the "pound" to get him, they waived the fee (for whatever they call it) in exchange for us letting them microchip him. I thought that was a pretty good trade. I didn't watch them do his chip so I don't know how he reacted to it regarding the pain level. So anyway, I know they do it there and I have a friend that works there so I'll check into it real soon.

Thanks for the info!
I just found this thread on Micro chipping. We had Baby Blessing Micro chipped last week, our local animal shelter is doing free on the week ends for the unincorporated area for the month of June, which includes us, it is mandatory now in our area. I preferred to take Baby Blessing to our vet rather than to the animal shelter, he only charged 40.00 plus the cost to send in to register it. I did call around to other vets offices which quoted as high as 60.00 for the micro chip plus office visit and registering of the chip which ran as much as 115.00 so it is good to do some calling. She really yelped loud but it was done for a good reason, then she turned quickly to me like to say," come on mama pick me up and give me hugs and it will all be okay. " Wishing all a nice evening.
