I have to disagree with the crowd here. We certainly aren't in a position to make such broad assumptions about her vet's opinion. He may be taking into consideration issues that we all are not aware of. Perhaps they are not of a fit size/structure/soundness to make breeding a feasible option and spay may be in the best interest of the dog's health. His bedside manner could have been less combative, but he may have had good reason to broach the subject so strongly.
