I do agree that he wasn't very tactful, and should not have given you an ultimatum!! However, that being said, there are very good reasons to have them spayed, as long as you are not intending to breed them. Vets and their office staff get many, many unwanted puppies and kittens EVERY day!! It is heartbreaking to see the number of dogs and cats that have to be put down because the owners didn't either 1. spay/neuter them, or 2. watch them to prevent unwanted pregnancy. I know Yorkies are a little different than the typical "mutt" on the street as far as finding homes for them, and most of us do not allow our dogs to wander around. BUT I am an animal lover PERIOD and can't stand the thought of having HEALTHY animals put to sleep!! I am just giving you all another perspective and something to think about. I don't know your personal situation but try to look at it a bit from where this vet might be coming from. (and NO- I do not believe that makes his statement right!!) Good luck with whatever you decide- I am sure you will make the right decision for you and your babies!!!!
