The best method to go with is to yelp in a hight pitch like a wounded puppy everytime he bites and walk away "to lick your wounds". You want him to understand that if he bites you, he can't play with you or be around you and has to be gentle. He will catch on real quick if he wants to be around you or play. Saying no in a firm voice works for some but I have found this method the most effective way and it is in dog talk so that your puppy knows what you are trying to say which is 'that hurts, I don't want to play with you or be with you because you are too rough, you have to be gentle to play with me." If you can try to get hubby to do this, he might feel ridiculous doing it but once he sees the end result he will be very pleased and glad he did it.
