I have two Yorkie boys aged 8 months. When I had my first Yorkie my Mum worked from home and so through taking him out every hour when we first got him, he got trained to go to the toilet outside and before he was 1 he would run to the the back door to tell us when he wanted to go out.

We tried this same routine with our new boys but the problem is no one is at home full time and although they are never alone for more than a few hours, we do shift work which means one week they'll go out regularly in the monring and the next they will got regularly in the afternoons! Clearly they have no toilet routine and although they go to the toilet outside when taken, they have loads of accidents inside.

It's getting to the point where our house is starting to smell because of their accidents and I don't know what to do next. We don't seem to have litter tray training in the UK as much as you guys do in the US. I'm willing to perservere of course but no one is with them 24 hours a day which I know will make things hard.

I love these guys so much and this is the only thing which spoils our happy lives together.
