A lot of stores don't mind, and half the time, the employees are the first ones to ooh and ah over my baby. Part of the reason I got a small dog was so I could take her places with me. I wouldn't try to sneak her into a grocery store, but I don't see the big deal in taking her to stores that don't have food or "no dogs allowed" signs.

While you have a point about a dog being in a carrier vs. a dog walking around, I know I would be really pist if my dog wasn't allowed in a store because of his size, yet another dog was just because they are in a carrier. It's not fair.
