I have noticed this also and just today, (it's 95 here), I let the dogs in from outside and my grandaughter said they stunk, she's only 6, so just being honest, but it goes away quickly.
When we got our first yorkie, 14 years ago, one of our neighbors told us that her daughter had yorkies, and they kept them in the garage because they smelled bad.
