i think maybe he is being protective of you? maybe his hormones are out of whack due to the snipping? i would keep him on a leash until he levels back out and let him know taht behavior isn't acceptable that you don't like it. use a lower growl sounding voice and it may take a little bit but he will catch on you could also reward him when he is being nice maybe a treat toy or belly scratch. hope things get back to normal soon.
