Default Lost dog blues

I found this husky girl walking around the park today dragging a 6-foot rope/leash as if she'd broken away from being tied up. No tags. She's so sweet and well-mannered. Didn't even flinch at my barking Yorkies. My moral dilemma is I had to drop her off at Animal Control because she's too big to be around my boys. It was so sad because Animal Control didn't even write down the information I gave them about location and time of find.

I'd DIE if I thought they were going to put her down. I printed up some FOUND signs and posted them all around the park. But what if somebody doesn't see them?

I'm tempted to check back and make sure the owner claims her. But if she doesn't get claimed, what do I do? Was I right to drop her off at Animal Control or should I have just let her find her own way home?
