Thinks getting worse... Thank you yorkie3 for your reply. Things have gotten worse. Bambi keeps biting at her baby. At first I thought she was just trying to move him but it was too rough. At least she kind of listened to me when I told her no. The last time she only nursed him 3-4 min once I got her to lay down. Then she started again and did not listen to me. The baby kept trying to go by her and she kept moving and she kept moving him. He was crying and wandering around wanting to be by her. She just looked at him like how dare you come by me. I know sounds silly. The last straw was when she was holding him by his foot, I had to pry her mouth open to get him loose. Then I had to take her away from him before she really hurt him. So I trieg again with her about 30 min ago. It was quieter, I was calmer and I didn't touch him at all before she did. She was worse than ever wouldn't let him nurse at all, and kept biting at him. The baby was so upset I had to take him away. Which is the last thing I would ever want to do. I don't know if I should keep trying with her or start bottle feeding or both. I just do not know what is best. I have had other litters with different moms and never had this problem. Thank you for any responses. |
