One of the things it talks about considering is if you have a big dog, not getting a yorkie. Well we have a med. sized dog (heinz 57) and a smaller dog, but they are both outside dogs, so I don't think this is an issue right? My question is...do you still introduce them and just watch even if they are not necessarily going to be in the same living space? We do usually bring in our dogs to our back porch at nights but they are gated off.

Thanks,
V
You just have to be careful if you have bigger dogs. I have two bigger dogs one that is 26 pounds and the other is 60 pounds. I have had no problems with them but I always watch them, they are so big compared to little yorkies and even if they did not mean to hurt them they can just because of their size. When you introduce them have the puppy in your lap so that you have complete control of the situation in case your dog decides to go after the little one. It also helps to bring back a towel or blanket with the puppy's scent on it to give to your dog to get your dog use to the new scent before the puppy comes home with you. Sounds like your bigger dogs won't have much interaction with the puppy unless the puppy is outside. Just always be there supervising, never ever leave them alone with puppy, all sorts of things can go wrong even if unintentional. Hope everything goes good for you and your pup when you get him.
