You have to nip this behavior in the bud and quick! I would suggest distraction. When you pick him up, have a toy in your hand and when he growls, tell him "no" and show him the toy and turn it into play. Always discourage biting at all costs. All puppies will bite in play but if it is biting in agression, you might want to seek help of a professional trainer. You may need some sort of professional intervention in such cases. Good luck with Champ and remember...this is a pack situation and you are the pack leader! You are the Alpha!!!
