I tried that previously (Nature's Miracle) but it still wasn't working and lex would continue to go there on that same spot. So a breeder recommended the vinegar/water solution and that seemed to work. What you can do is also when you are ready to take him out pick him up and not let him near the door. Then quickly put him down where you do want him to go and tell him to go potty or whatever word you use. That way he will realize that is where you want him to go.
