Toto's mom......Galveston does have leash laws...but not all people obey them...Dogs are allowed on the beaches....many people enjoy walking their pets....I always keep a leash on Max....because I want to have some some control of his wandering lust....he absolutely loves the beach and tries to smell and mark every blessed piece of seaweed, dead fish, shell....etc.....

I often look behind and all around me to watch for other dogs...however the Rottweiler came from the dunes and I didn't see him in advance.....It was a scary thing.

Come on down to Galveston...you will love it.....and so will your yorkie.....just use caution and keep a watchful eye for owners who let their dogs run free. We travel here from Oklahoma often to have a place to enjoy our grandchildren in Houston and Lufkin.....Lots of friendly pet owners and Max is always a hit on the beach...
