no the holes are made big enough were they can poop it is to stop urine not poop. Some people make diapers that don't have tail holes but that can be messy. My little girl wears them and she is able to poop fine with hers. I use them for when she is in heat she loves them because then she doesn't have to lay around cleaning her self all day. It is good for training as well. I know if our babies have accidents they would much rather it be poop than pee.
