Yes, I have to go to classes for a couple of hours in the morning and I sometimes have to work at nights, but what the difference between that and someone who has a job and is gone from 8-5? So just because someone is a "college student" doesn't mean that they'll be horrible yorkie owner..IMHO
No one thinks that a College Student will be a horrible yorkie owner. It's just a bit easier for a college student to not have as much time because quite frankly you are not sure as to where life is going to lead you. When you are out of school and start your career that beginning is usually a deal maker or breaker. You tend to have to work hard to prove yourself and depending on what sort of job you take you might have to travel and then what? There are always a ton of variables...for instance does that person "have" to work to support themselves or do they have financial support from their parents. Each case should be evaluated on an individual basis and see where it goes from there. Fortunately for you you only have to work sometimes. what if that person that posted has to work full time in addition to school? People were just putting it out there that it should be a consideration. No one was trying to stereotype or hurt the posters feelings. But owning a pet is not an easy thing and with these small breed dogs that may need more care and attention it's good that everyone speaks up and offers her some advice.
