i dont think it will be too hard b/c most people are looking for a smaller yorkie and are surprised when they reach 8lbs. both of mine are 8lbs but i was told they would only be 5-6lbs. so you really never know. also.....mine of course was said not to be around children and both of mine love children more than adults.....i think if you children are considerate, you will be fine
