I have looked on petfinder and most of the one's I find on there they do not recommend children or they are about a 10hr drive away. We were hoping to get a baby so we could bring it up knowing the kids. I will look into Petland, thanks for the info. I don't see why anyone would disagree with adopting an animal from a pet store? It's not the Yorkie's fault he is there. I can understand if you are looking for a registered dog etc but just for a pet I would adopt from anywhere. Thanks for all of the replies and I will keep on researching. The scams are ridiculous...I have received several emails thanks to the posted info I have been able to catch them and not be fooled so far!
