I haven't had to deal with this, so my idea is just what I would try - not what I have tried. At almost three months, I'm guessing Fancy sleeps A LOT. I'd try putting her in the crate with the door open when she falls asleep during the day. When she wakes up, she can wander out. If that works for a few days, start closing the door from time to time. Just an idea.
