I think that's really fantastic and it's for such a good cause
I used to have really long hair--a bit longer than yours. I needed a change so I got it chopped about 8 years ago and have had varying degrees of short hair since then. I LOVE short hair--especially for summer. There are so many cute short styles that you can get. And like you said-it will grow back if you don't like it.
