I talked to my vet about this, Sophie was getting into the cat litter box and whew, did she smell.....the vet said he didn't know why they liked to get into the litter box. My fix was to buy a covered kitty litter box and put it up high... you can use a table, shelf, or anything the kitties can reach but the pup can't reach... It worked for us... and the kitties like their privacy...
