Something has come to my attention reading all the YT threads. Time after time Yorkies' humans mention that they have multiple furbabies. I've known or known of quite a few people before that had multiples of whatever their preferred breed was - but I really think a far higher percentage of Yorkie owners have more than one.
It's clearly not a cost issue. Yorkies probably cost as much to acquire and maintain as any other breed. Size may be a factor. It's certainly easier to find space for two or three Yorkies than it would be to house multiple great danes or collies. In my opinion, though, it comes down to something in the very nature of these dear, sweet little babies. And it doesn't take long for them to latch on to your heart. When we picked up Bailey, she was with all of her littermates. Including Bailey, there were three females and one male. The male and one female had been spoken for, but the new families hadn't seen them and picked out the specific puppy they wanted - so we had first pick from the three females. By the time we left with Bailey, I was trying to figure out a way that we could afford to get the other available female. We couldn't then - but I've already told my wife that we WILL have another one in six months to a year.
