I was wondering if someone could tell me, how in the world do i watermark (is that the term?) my photos?

i'm trying to make my online portfolio and i don't want people to steal my photos (it's happened before)..

thanks in advanced.. oh and if it matters, i'm using Photoshop CS (version 9.0)
