I got Jazzie when my cat Magnum was about 10 years old. He was curious but didn't take to Jazzie right away. He became very clingy with me (which I was happy about). Once he got accustomed (or resigned) to having Jazzie around, he made a game of frustrating her. He started to act like a kitten again and do the whole stalk and pounce then he would jump up to where Jazzie couldn't get to. They had a good time.
With you kitty being so young, I think it will work out just fine. It's just a matter of time before they are buddies.
