Punkin came to live with us at 8 months. She was mostly trained - our problem was she wasn't giving a clear signal. We tried a bell at the door and she really didn't like that. She now has a whine she gives during the day and in the middle of the night a loud bark (thankfully that's only happened twice!).
At 10- 11 months we noticed that the only accidents were ours - not paying attention to her. Now at 13 months I would say we have it down pat.
I am so proud of her - when we were at the vets a week ago we had a long wait. She sat on my lap like a good little girl. After 2 hours she made her little whine and we went outside and sure enough she had to pee.
It's definitely possible - I can just imagine the frustration of starting from scratch with a wee puppy.
