I felt like a short order cook when my puppies were real young too. I was always making some concoction in the hopes that they would reward me by eating a couple of bites. It got so bad that they wouldn't eat unless they were hand fed!! They expected boiled chicken and warm wet food.
Finally at 6 months of age I got brave enought to leave the dry kibble out and not give them anything else. I did give nutrical but that was all and by the end of the day they were eating the kibble!! Yahoo!! Freeom!
I do treat them now several times a day when we train with treats and special food so I still spoil them but they are getting the healthy kibble and their teeth are getting cleaned. |
