It's dance recital ticket camp out weekend Tomorrow.
It has become a tradition in our home. People start lining up around 8 pm on Saturday night in the parking lot. Lawn chairs, sleeping bags, bring coolers, grills, portable TV's, We get assorted visitors during the night. Local cops come and hang out. Numbers for ticket purchases are given out around 8 am Sunday morning tickets go on sale at 9 am. by then there are about 150 campers. The bakery patrons, those who have been in a COMA for the last 10 years, want to know what the heck is going on. You would think it's Yankee playoff tickets on sales. We have NEVER made it to #1. Usually around 4 or 5. Not that there is a bad seat or they run out of tickets it's just become the thing to do.... My son and his friends did last year and cant wait for this year. I have my shopping list of needed for items. I usually pop in around 11 and hang out with my GF for a couple of hours. Son comes home with the number than I have to go back for 9. Most people think were nuts. The studio owner just laughs. Fights have ensued over leaving you place in line over night. |
This is for a childs dance recital....and you are saying that if you don't wait in line then you will still get tickets?? OK....I must not be a good stage parent...don't think I could do that...unless of course in included adult beverages and good friends! My son was in quite a few performances with the SC Children's Theater, I told him, yep I am not cut out for this stage parent thing....some of these Mother's need to be slapped
