It seemed like a perfectly nice place and she was walked twice a day and everything so we thought she'd be fine there, she'd just miss us. We phoned about 3 times during the week asking if she was alright and they told us that she was a bit anxious and scared for the first 2 days but after that she was perfect. She was all giddy and jumping up at people when they came in and washing their faces and stuff.. so I'm glad she got used to it and adapted.
But gosh, she was extremely happy when we came to pick her up. She was crying, circling round us, weeing herself..!
She hasn't taken us for granted since.
I'm sure yours will be just fine. What we did with Molly is we let her go in the kennel for a day and night and then went and got her so she was familiar with it before we just went and left her and she knew we were coming back to get her. You should do that. I don't have any proof that it worked but it must've helped her.
I was the same as you, I really didn't wanna put her in a kennel.. away from home AND us. I was thinking about hiring someone who looks after the dog in your own house so it's not so scary and stuff.. but, can you really trust a stranger with your house and your baby?
To your Yorkie, it'll soon just be a frequent occurence and the more they go in it, the less worry it is for your dog. So don't hesitate cause then it'll be better for both of you.
Just make sure you research into the Kennel, I've heard lots of stories about them not looking after the dog properly.. letting it exercise itself, not giving it enough food and at the right times, sometimes even physical abuse.. so..
Good luck!!
