We didn't have an umbilical hernia fixed and I woke up to find my dog dead from complications from it one day---no prior indications of pain, discomfort, nada. You may never have problems for it. Mostly complications arise from dogs becoming over heated and over excited. Can you keep her quiet at all times? I wouldn't imagine so.

My advice is take her in to have it corrected.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to sound mean and harsh, but you have to understand what could happen if you ignore it. I understand how scary it is to think of losing her, but what choice do you have. The way I see it, you stand a chance to lose her during surgery (a slim chance I would think) and you stand a chance losing her if you put it off. Why not take the chance getting her well?
