Jager, my cat had an umbilical hernia when he was born, I didn't wait long since he was a male cat, I had to get him fixed as soon as I could. But when he got neutered the doctor fixed the umbilical hernia at the same time. Its a very simple surgery, I was working for the vet that performed it so I even was able to watch him do it. This was years ago but I belive it was only a few stitches. Its better to get the spay and the umbilical hernia done at the same time, this way your little one doesn't have to go under Anesthesia twice.
