The er clinic's have 24 hour vet and tech's on staff. When Cali was going t be spayed at the regular vet's they wanted to keep her overnight even though no one is there all night. I told them I would sign a release but that I wanted her home with me since I could watch her and take her to the er vet 5 minutes away. She ended up having emergency surgery at the ER clinic where I had decided to have her spayed because of her liver biopsy and the surgeon did it at night since she was working the night shift. I called at 1 am and 5 am and talked to a vet and when she was going to come home the next night a 1/2 hour before I was going to pick her up a vet called and said she had thrown up and he wanted to watch her overnight. So they have a full staff 24 hours in the er intensive care. They usually get excellent care there so he is in good hands. Let us know how he progresses.
