Max's Mom, We had a similar experience in Orange, TX where we stayed in a corporate rental before moving over to Lake Charles, LA where we will be working for about 2 years. I had Toto in her bag and a lady was walking her dog [it was huge and it's head looked like a pit bull, don't know what breed it was!] when suddenly it charged us ... my husband quickly stepped in front of us and told me to take Toto on to our apartment. I was so terrified I could hardly keep from running ... but knew better! He made eye contact with the dog and it backed down .... the dog was so strong the lady could hardly hold it back! It was sooo scarry!

We have been talking about a week-end down to Galveston and the beach .... are there lots of dogs and don't they have leash laws there? We have wanted to introduce Toto to the shore but when we went down to Destin, FL found that they don't allow dogs on the beach, period! The park ranger said it was because of the damage that some dogs do such as digging up sea turtle eggs in the sand and the plants that grow there, etc. It's a shame that some are penalized for the uncaring stupidity of others!!
