I started Gus on pee pads when he was little but after he was done with all his shots I started to take him out about every 2 hours or so. After a while he didn't want to use the pads anymore and would cry to go potty outside. But every dog is different, some easier and some harder. My Pom was a nightmare to train but Gus was so easy.
