I have used human products on Reagan, not Pantene though, and while I don't think it makes her coat look as good as it does with what I am using now it never bothered her either. Her coat nor skin were dry, I've heard that long term it will dry out though, I used mine for at least 2-3 months and never noticed any itching or dryness. Actually I liked the way Redken products made her look more than some of the dog products I have tried. If you try it just watch, as you would with any product, and make sure it isn't drying her out.
I totally agree with doggrooming though what may work for some might not necessarily work for all. Just look at the CC products so many people rave about it but there are a few that don't like it at all.
