Well, from what I understood from his quick description, the permanent HAD pushed up under the baby teeth, but hadn't been able to push them all the way out....maybe those long roots, you're talking about. Anyway, so that instead of the "two rows of teeth" phenomenon, the baby molars were still "covering" the adult ones.

I'd just never heard of that! But goodness knows I still have a lot to learn!
