Ok this is how I do it...First I take a bath in water as hot as I can stand, like it was said earlier it softens the hair. Then I actually shave the area under the water without any kind of shave gel or what not, I also shave against the grain and am fine. I make sure that I've cleaned that area as well as everywhere else first because I've noticed that once I've shaved if I put anything on the area, especially soap, I get really bad razor burn/bumps. I also wait just a bit before I shave again, not when the hair is first coming back, but also not when its really long. Anyway this is what works for me, seems a little strange/personal posting on a forum, especially a yorkie forum, but what the hey.
