My Lexie is a bigger girl now weighing almost 12 lbs. She is pure yorkie and comes from parents 5lbs and 4.5lbs. It can happen. It is apparently becomming more common. She is my big baby but still my little girl. I hope this helps. I don't know about the term extra large but she is biger than standard. (and not at all overweight)
