We keep an old piece of wood panelling on top of the playpen. This was done originally to keep our cats from jumping in. Now when I leave for work Benji stands by the playpen to go in. He's gotten used to it, although I am sure he'd rather be out and about. I bought a teething kong - the blue and white one - and fill it with the kong paste, then freeze it. When I leave, I give that to him. That keeps him occupied for a little while. My son, who is upstairs and leaves a couple of hours later for work, said he doesn't hear Benji fuss. But, of course, he's jumping up and down and barking when he hears us come home! |
